The structure of FEI’s Engineering laboratories is broken down into three large, modern centers – the Electrical Laboratories’ Center (with 35 laboratories), the Mechanical Laboratories’ Center (with 35 laboratories), and the Chemical Laboratories’ Center (with 18 laboratories). Each one of them gives students the opportunity to have contact with specific materials in all of the graduate courses. All FEI’s laboratories have state-of-the-art equipment, like that used by companies and industries in Brazil and throughout the world, and thus provide the student with the chance to learn on cutting edge equipment coherent with market reality.
Computer Science Laboratories
Teaching laboratories with high technology equipment enable the student to experiment, test, research and get to know in practice the activities which will become part of his or her day-to-day professional life. The University Center of FEI has the following laboratories: Computer Networks and Distribution Systems Laboratory, Hypermedia Laboratory, Operational Systems Laboratory, Usability Laboratory and Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory – all with state-of-the-art equipment to carry out advanced research and promote science and technology in their areas.
There are two kinds of laboratory: Research and Development Laboratories and Study and Learning Laboratories, this last comprising 27 laboratories (24 in São Bernardo do Campo and 3 in São Paulo) and containing a total of 792 personal computers. All of them are equipped with PC/AT Pentium multimedia, which function in a Windows XP environment, and also support other available operational environments such as Linux, NT Server and others.
Community Center for Sports, Recreation and Leisure – (CCSRL)
The University Center of FEI provides a magnificent Community Center for Sports, Recreation and Leisure – (CCSRL) and organizes internal tournaments, aquatic activities (swimming, hydrogymnastics), physical fitness activities in the gym, martial arts and so on. A First Aid Center equipped for emergency is also available.
The University Center of FEI has six auditoriums, three on the São Bernardo campus and three on the São Paulo campus. They vary in capacity from 40 to 300 people, and all are equipped with a complete audiovisual system; they are used for lectures, presentations, workshops, courses, saraus, and theatrical presentations.
"Padre Aldemar Moreira, S.J." Library
It has a valuable collection of around 27,000 titles and 52,000 copies, as well as the complete facilities for students and employees to explore the universe of knowledge in an agreeable and computerized environment. Click here to get to know FEI´s Library site.
"Santo Inácio de Loyola" Chapel
Inaugurated in 1978, it occupies a privileged location on the campus of São Bernardo do Campo. With its sober, yet welcoming lines, it not only offers a place for prayer, but is also a symbol of the institution’s ideals and values. Masses are celebrated weekly on Tuesdays and Fridays for students, teachers and employees, and on Sundays for the community at large.
"Nossa Senhora do Bom Conselho" Chapel"
The "Nossa Senhora do Bom Conselho" chapel was inaugurated in December of 1993 on the São Paulo campus, and is a symbol of the values and ideals of the institution. Within it students, teachers and employees can find a friendly place for reflection and prayer.
